This coverage, mandated by law, ensures protection in the following areas:
2-Year Materials & Labour Warranty
First 12 Months:
Covers any defects in materials and labour for all new homes. During the first year, Lake Valley Homes is committed to addressing any issues that arise.
First 15 Months:
This covers any defects in materials and labor in the common areas of a multi-unit building.
First 24 Months
This covers defects in materials and labor for the electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as exterior cladding, caulking, windows, and doors. These defects may cause detachment or damage to the new home and violate the Building Code, including common property in strata corporations.
5-Year Building Envelope Warranty
FIRST 60 MONTHS
This covers elements that separate the interior from the exterior, such as exterior walls, foundation, roof, windows, and doors. The minimum warranty includes defects in the building envelope that allow unintended water penetration, which may cause or likely cause material damage to the new home.
10-Year Building Structural Defects Warranty
FIRST 120 MONTHS
This covers defects in materials and labor that cause the failure of a load-bearing component of the new home, as well as any defect that results in structural damage significantly impacting the home’s suitability for residential use.
